Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about platforms, connection, security, and everyday use.
What is AirsPad?
AirsPad turns your iPhone or Android phone into a wireless touchpad and keyboard so you can control a Windows or Mac computer on the same local network.
Which devices are supported?
Desktop receivers run on Windows 10/11 and macOS 12+. Phone controllers support Android 8+ today. An iOS app exists in development and is not yet available on the App Store.
Do I need the internet?
No. Everyday control runs over your local Wi‑Fi / LAN. You only need internet if you download the software from this website.
How do I connect to my computer?
Install the desktop receiver, open the phone app, then connect via LAN discovery, QR code, or manual address. Complete pairing with the on-screen code.
Does AirsPad support QR codes?
Yes. The desktop receiver can display a connection QR code. The phone app can scan it to add the computer. Pairing and authentication are still required.
Can I add a device manually?
Yes. You can enter the computer’s LAN address and port if discovery or scanning is unavailable.
Does it include a wireless touchpad?
Yes. The phone screen acts as a wireless touchpad for pointer movement, clicks, dragging, scrolling, and multi-touch gestures.
Does it include a wireless keyboard?
Yes. Wireless keyboard input is a core AirsPad capability for typing and common keys such as arrows and Escape.
Is Windows supported?
Yes. A Windows 10/11 (64-bit) receiver is available for download on this site.
Is macOS supported?
Yes. A macOS 12+ package is available as a developer preview. It is not Developer ID signed or notarized, so Gatekeeper may block installation.
Is iPhone supported?
An iOS client has been developed, but it is not yet listed on the App Store. Status on this site remains Coming soon until a public store release is available.
Is Android supported?
Yes. You can download the Android APK directly from this site. It is not distributed through Google Play from airspad.com.
Is the connection secure?
Control sessions use encrypted WebSocket (WSS) on your LAN with pairing, authentication, and certificate identity checks (including SPKI pinning). No product can claim absolute security; use trusted networks and remove devices you no longer need.
Do I need an account?
No. AirsPad does not require a cloud account for everyday local control.
How do I manage saved computers?
Saved devices can be connected, disconnected, edited, or deleted from the phone app’s device management actions.
What if connection fails?
Confirm both devices are on the same LAN, the desktop receiver is running, the firewall allows AirsPad, and the address/port are correct. Then retry discovery, QR scan, or manual add, and complete pairing again if needed.
